Joke Of The Day

An auto industry CEO was in a great deal of trouble. His Big Three auto company was failing, and the U.S. Government was pressing him to resign. It was so bad he was even contemplating suicide.
As a last resort, instead of asking for more bailout money, he went to a priest and poured out his story of tears and woe.
When he had finished, the priest said, “Here’s what I want you to do: Put a beach chair and your Bible in your car and drive down to the beach. Take the beach chair and the Bible to the water’s edge, sit down in the beach chair, and put the Bible in your lap.
Open the Bible; the wind will rifle the pages, but finally the open Bible will come to rest on a page. Look down at the page and read the first thing you see. That will be your answer, that will tell you what to do.”
Six months later the CEO went back to the priest and brought his wife and children with him. The man was in a new custom-tailored suit, his wife in a mink coat, the children shining.
The CEO pulled an envelope stuffed with money out of his pocket, gave it to the priest as a donation in thanks for his advice.
The priest was curious. “You did as I suggested?” he asked.
“Absolutely,” replied the CEO.
“You went to the beach?”
“Absolutely.”
“You sat in a beach chair with the Bible in your lap?”
“Absolutely.”
“You let the pages rifle until they stopped?”
“Absolutely.”
“And what were the first words you saw?”
“Chapter 11.”

Dumbass Of The Day

Today’s FTW
A Swedish man, who sparked a naval search for his missing wife remembers later that she wasn’t even on board. The man frantically called emergency services while sailing and said he feared his wife had fallen overboard and drowned. A rescue team searched the waters to no avail then towed the disabled sailboat back to shore. After learning the man’s wife was on shore the entire time, authorities cited the man for boating while intoxicated.

Missouri resident Robert Shreeves, 40, who thought it would be fun to float down the flood-swollen Missouri River using just a kiddie pool. Shreeves was spotted on the river after dark on a small inflatable pool that was just six inches tall. Authorities had posted warnings about the danger of recreating on or near the river because of severe flooding, but Shreeves’ alcohol induced state must have deemed it safe enough. He was arrested for public intoxication.

James Dillard, 40, a New Jersey barber who bit the ear of a customer that complained about how slow he was cutting hair. The 24-year-old client decided to get up and leave the shop, slamming the barbershop’s door behind him and causing the glass to shatter. Dillard rushed outside, and the two men began to fight. During the struggle, Dillard did a “Mike Tyson,” and bit the client’s ear nearly in half.

An unidentified thief, who swiped a black bag from a car in Florida and ended up with anti-crime brochures and letters from people who have gotten killed in prison. The bag belonged to a program assistant for “Reality Check,” an anti-crime program dedicated to keeping at-risk teenagers and adults out of jail. Maybe that thief will have a little “reality check” of his own?
