A fellow stopped at a gas station and after filling his tank. He paid the bill and bought a soft drink. He stood by his car drinking his cola and watched two men working along the roadside.
One man would dig a hole 2 or 3 feet deep and then move on. The other man came along behind him and filled in the hole. While one was digging a new hole the other was about 25 feet behind filling in the old.
“Hold it” he said to the men. “Can you tell me what’s going on here with the digging?”
“Well, we’re union and we work for the state” one of the men stated.
“But one of you digs a hole and the other fills it up. You’re not accomplishing anything. Aren’t you wasting the state’s money?”
“You don’t understand, mister” one of the workers said, leaning on his shovel and wiping his brow. “Normally, there’s three of us … me, Bubba and Earl. I dig the hole, Bubba sticks in the tree, and Earl here puts the dirt back in the hole. Just ’cause Bubba’s sick, that don’t mean that Earl and me shouldn’t work!”

Dumbass Of The Day

Today’s FTW
Laura Campanello, 43, who decided a visitor to her child’s school was showing too much cleavage, so she picked a fight with the woman. The victim argued and Campanello, who allegedly pulled the front of the woman’s blouse down, reached in with both hands and pulled both breasts out and squeezed them together. Campanello was arrested but intends to sue the school, the sheriff, and the jail for their mistreatment of her, because she now suffers from post traumatic stress disorder.

Kenneth Rosen, 54, who didn’t like to be told to turn down his music in a Quincy, MA Subway restaurant, so he pulled out a hatchet and began swinging away. Rosen then slammed the hatchet on the table where the men had been sitting, cutting a sandwich in half, and saying, “You want some of that?” Rosen was arrested.

Steve Urbansky, 46, who told Lorain, OH police he was spinning his wheels in a snow bank because he was attempting to “mow the sidewalk.” Urbansky was given a field sobriety test, which he failed. Police found an opened can of beer in the glove compartment.

I’m a nerd and find the census numbers interesting.  Did you know that the five most populous incorporated places and their 2010 Census counts in South Dakota are Sioux Falls, 153,888; Rapid City, 67,956; Aberdeen, 26,091; Brookings, 22,056; and Watertown, 21,482. Sioux Falls grew by 24.1 percent since the 2000 Census. Rapid City grew by 14.0 percent, Aberdeen grew by 5.8 percent, Brookings grew by 19.2 percent, and Watertown grew by 6.2 percent.

The largest county is Minnehaha, with a population of 169,468. Its population grew by 14.3 percent since 2000. The other counties in the top five include Pennington, with a population of 100,948 (increase of 14.0 percent); Lincoln, 44,828 (increase of 85.8 percent); Brown, 36,531 (increase of 3.0 percent); and Brookings, 31,965 (increase of 13.3 percent).

A family had twin boys who looked exactly alike. But their outlook on life was very different. One was an eternal optimist, the other was a doom and gloom pessimist.
Just to see what would happen, on the twins’ birthday their father loaded the pessimist’s room with every imaginable toy and game. He then loaded the optimist’s room with horse manure.
That night the father passed by the pessimist’s room and found him sitting surrounded by all his new toys crying bitterly.
“Why are you crying?” the father asked.
“Because my friends will be jealous, I’ll have to read all these instructions before I can do anything with this stuff, I’ll constantly need batteries, and my toys will eventually get broken,” answered the pessimist twin.
Passing the optimist twin’s room, the father found him dancing for joy in the pile of manure. “What are you so happy about?! ” he asked.
To which his optimist twin replied, “There’s got to be a pony in here somewhere!”

Dumbass Of The Day

Today’s FTW
Jeffrey Yancey, who made it real easy for authorities to finger him as the person who stole more than a dozen tires. Yancey was caught on surveillance cameras loading the tires into a van that had the words “Jeff Tires” and his cell phone number on it.

Eric Wilson, 21, who got into a fight with a woman after he changed his Facebook status to “single” and she questioned it. Wilson shouted obscenities, broke a TV, pushed the woman into a wall and even threatened to shoot her. Now he can change his status to “inmate.”

Jerrie Perkins, 30, who attempted to shoplift $600 in electronics with the aid of her motorized cart, but didn’t get too far. Perkins, who weighs over 400 pounds, got stuck in the store’s entrance. She set off the door alarm, hit a store employee who confronted her and later had to be Tasered by police.
See a photo of her HERE
