Great Aberdeen Pigout Press Release

Press Release

Aberdeen, SD – Monday, March 29, 2010

Keller Williams has built a career on his uncanny ability to captivate a packed
house-all by himself. He’s been called a “one-man band.” A “solo cult-hero.”
“Music’s mad-scientist.” All of which are clever labels for what seems to be an
essential truth: On stage, Keller Williams works alone.

For over 100 shows a year, Williams
has proven himself to be a master of
improvisational performance art.

In his one-man show, he pads barefoot from guitar to bass to percussion stations, using looping effects-and enough instruments to stock a stripmall music store to layer sound atop
sound until the stage swirls with a full-blown composition. While Keller has made liberal use of
technology throughout his career, he knows that musicianship is ultimately a human undertaking. With a seemingly unquenchable thirst for all genres of music – bluegrass, jazz, and-who’d- a-thunk-it-hard rock, occasionally Williams puts unyielding faith in a backing

Whether performing with solo or with Grateful Grass, Keller, Moseley,
Droll and Sipe or Grunge Grass (just a few of his “band” projects), Keller
Williams knows best how to please a music hungry crowd.

Memphis, Tennessee quintet, Saliva formed in 1996 and immediately started writing originals and playing out live. In
1997 they were finalists in the Grammy Showcase sponsored by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, which created a buzz down south that became a roar when they self-released their 1998 self-titled debut. After fielding various offers, Saliva signed with Island in 2000 and released their major label debut, Every Six Seconds, the following year. The aggressive hybrid of rock and rap connected with rock listeners, who propelled the single “Click Click Boom” to #14 and “Your Disease” all the way to #2 at Active Rock. A full year of touring followed, and the album went gold and eventually platinum, paving the way for 2002’s Back Into Your System, a more tuneful offering with less hip-hop and more rock. Another crowd pleaser, the disc also went gold and spawned the #1 hit “Always” and the singles “Raise Up” and “Rest in Pieces.”
Next came 2004’s Survival of the Sickest, an unapologetic tribute to the band’s influences
and Saliva’s only major label disc that wasn’t produced by Marlette. “Paul Ebersold (3
Doors Down, Sister Hazel) did that one, and it was a straight up rock n’ roll,” says Scott,
“a big fist in the sky to AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Motley Crue and all those bands that
paved the way for us.”
The band returned to what they do best with Blood Stained Love Story, bringing back
Marlette and crafting an album full of unforgettable hooks and emotional lyrics. The
emphatic “Ladies and Gentlemen” was the #1 song at Active Rock radio and reached #2
on the Mainstream Rock chart, as well as the them song for a host of TV platforms such
as the popular Sony Playstation commercial, The WWE Wrestlemania, and UFC’s
Wired. One more single, “Broken Sunday” followed, as did extensive touring, and now
the stage was set for Cinco Diablo.
More than a decade since their birth, Saliva are finding new ways to satisfy their creative
impulses and please their loyal fans. And having survived the challenges and frustrations
of popular rock bands, they’re charging forward with renewed vigor and accumulated
“We’ve had a bunch of lessons that we’ve paid minimally for and lessons we’ve paid
dearly for,” Says Scott. “But at the end of the day we’re smarter and better, and we’ve
discovered that playing music is all about life and surviving and living to fight another

If you missed it……3/29

Happy Monday

If you missed The Morning Rokit on 94.1 The Rock this morning, you missed……….

Joke Of The Day

A married couple went to the hospital to have their baby delivered. Upon their arrival, the doctor said he had invented a new machine that would transfer a portion of the mother’s labor pain to the baby’s father. He asked if they were willing to try it out.
They were both very much in favor of it.
The doctor set the pain transfer to 10% for starters, explaining that even 10% was probably more pain than the father had ever experienced before. However, as the labor progressed, the husband felt fine and asked the doctor to go ahead and kick it up a notch. The doctor then adjusted the machine to 20% pain transfer.
The husband was still feeling fine.
The doctor checked the husband’s blood pressure and was amazed at how well he was doing. At this point, they decided to try for 50%. The husband continued to feel quite well.
Since the pain transfer was obviously helping out the wife considerably, the husband encouraged the doctor to transfer ALL the pain to him.
The wife delivered a healthy baby with virtually no pain. She and her husband were ecstatic.
When they got home, the mailman was dead on the porch.

Dumbass Of The Day

Tonya Neff a Southern California middle school teacher who was arrested for teaching while drunk. Administrators at Thermal’s Toro Canyon Middle School said the 47-year-old teacher was apparently intoxicated on campus. Neff had taken prescription drugs and alcohol and an alcoholic beverage was found inside a container. Neff has been placed on leave.

A thief who made off with merchandise worth more than $28,000. He broke into an unmarked truck, so he wasn’t sure what he had stolen. It turned out he swiped 56,400 green Bic highlighters and several other boxes of 400 pens each.

Todays FTW
Administrators at Manor Church of England elementary school in Melksham, England, who charged a woman for trespassing because she entered school grounds to help a young boy down from a tree. Kim Barrett, 38, said she was passing and asked a young boy clinging to a tree about 6 feet high if he was okay. She said, “It became clear he had been there since the end of playtime, around half an hour earlier.” Barrett said she helped the 5-year-old down from the tree and took him inside the school, where she said officials were anything but grateful. Principal Beverley Martin said the school has a policy of not helping children down from trees. She said teachers are told to “observe from a distance so the child does not get distracted and fall.”

Bozo Criminal Of The Day

Bozo criminal for today comes from Orem, Utah, where bozo John Watkins swiped a couple of cell phones from a convenience store. And that’s where he troubles began. Apparently he left behind a slip of paper with his address on it. Then, he somehow became disorientated and flagged down a police officer to ask for directions. The very same police officer that was investigating the theft and had just received a description of our bozo from the clerk. Oops. He’s been charged with theft and possession of marijuana.
